About the Nursery & Woodland Walk
This family-run plant nursery and woodland walk is located 12 miles to the south-west of Carlisle. It lies within picturesque High Hall Wood, near the village of Westward, Cumbria (map). The market town of Wigton is a few miles to the north, whilst a short drive to the south brings you to the world-famous English Lake District.

The nursery has a rustic, old fashioned style that blends perfectly into its rural environment. Plant stocks include shrubs, herbaceous perennials, and roses. A peaceful and relaxing walk through private woodland can be enjoyed by visitors wishing to linger a while and contemplate the beauty of nature - whilst for children* there are the little houses of the Woodland Folk nestling at the foot of moss-covered trees and in old stumps - Montague Mouse, Sebastian Shrew, Maudie Mole and many others. Special planting areas alongside the woodland walk display a variety of native and non-native plant species; some of which are available for purchase from the nursery. Entrance to the plant nursery and woodland walk is FREE. Parking is available, free of charge, during normal opening hours (see above). Coach parking is not available. * Accompanied children are welcome.
High Hall Nursery & Woodland Walk was featured in the August/September, 2008 edition of Cumbria Life magazine.
